Al-Alimi Announces Military Operations to Reclaim Yemeni Territories and Urges Houthis to Lay Down Arms
Yemeni leader Rashad Al-Alimi announces military operations to reclaim territories, ensuring recovery and amnesty for those who disarm, urging international support.
Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council Chairman Rashad Al-Alimi announced on Sunday the commencement of military operations to reclaim the remaining Yemeni territories under Houthi control, emphasizing that these operations are "not a war against Sana'a or Saada."
Al-Alimi assured that government forces will usher every city they reclaim into a phase of recovery and reconstruction, ensuring the safe return of Yemenis to their regions and offering amnesty to those who lay down their arms.
He pledged to shoulder the "national responsibility in confronting the Houthis after exhausting all opportunities for calm," calling on Yemenis in areas under the group's control to "cooperate with the Yemeni armed forces."
He added that "state institutions will be in full alert to achieve victory," urging "friends and the international community to stand by Yemen."
Al-Alimi also promised that Yemeni forces "will protect the waterways on behalf of the entire world," stating, "We know the path to victory and the magnitude of the responsibility placed upon us."
