Medina Governor Inspects Haramain Train Station and Reviews Operational Plan for 2.21 Million Pilgrims

Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Medina Region and Chairman of the Permanent Committee for Hajj and Umrah in the region, inspected the Haramain High-Speed Train Station in Medina, accompanied by Prince Saud bin Nahar bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of the region. This visit is part of the ongoing efforts to monitor the operational readiness and services provided to the pilgrims during the Hajj season.

During the field tour, His Highness reviewed the station's readiness and the services offered to travelers between the two holy cities, noting the operational integration that facilitates the movement of pilgrims.

The Governor of the Medina Region emphasized the need to enhance efforts and coordination among the relevant authorities to ensure high-quality services for the pilgrims and to ease their movement between the two holy cities.

During the tour, the Deputy CEO of the Haramain High-Speed Train, Engineer Rayan Al-Harbi, presented the operational plan for the Hajj season. The plan includes providing more than 2.21 million seats through over 5,300 trips between Mecca and Medina, passing through King Abdulaziz International Airport Station in Jeddah and King Abdullah Economic City Station in Rabigh.

His Highness also reviewed the station's operational facilities and services, as well as crowd management plans, to ensure smooth passenger movement during the season.

Additionally, His Highness was briefed on the Haramain High-Speed Train initiative, in collaboration with the Haramain Association for People with Mobility Disabilities, to transport people with disabilities to the Prophet's Mosque free of charge.
