The General Authority of Civil Aviation announced that Abha International Airport and King Khalid International Airport were subjected to attacks on Tuesday and Wednesday, October 6 and 7, 2026. These attacks targeted their facilities, resulting in three fatalities and 36 injuries. Emergency teams and relevant authorities immediately responded according to established procedures and plans.

The authority clarified that the attack on Abha International Airport resulted in the deaths of two residents from Morocco and Algeria, may they rest in peace, and 28 injuries among citizens and two residents from Bangladesh and the Philippines, ranging from minor to severe.

The attack on King Khalid International Airport resulted in the death of a Sudanese resident, may he rest in peace, and eight injuries, including five citizens, two residents from Egypt, and one resident from Pakistan, with injuries ranging from minor to severe.

All injured individuals were immediately transported to the hospital for medical care, while the attacks also caused some material damage.

The authority, in coordination with relevant security agencies, is working on assessing the damage and taking necessary measures to ensure the safety of travelers and workers, as well as maintaining the security of the civil aviation system in the Kingdom.
