Jordan Summons Iranian Charge d'Affaires in Protest Against Repeated Attacks
The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Iranian Charge d'Affaires in Amman, protesting ongoing Iranian attacks and inflammatory statements.
The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Iranian Charge d'Affaires in Amman, delivering a strongly worded protest message denouncing the ongoing Iranian attacks targeting Jordanian territory and provocative inflammatory statements issued by official Iranian entities regarding Jordan.
The official spokesperson for the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Fouad Al-Majali, stated that the ministry requested the charge d'affaires to convey a clear message to Tehran containing three main demands: an immediate cessation of attacks on Jordan, an end to the unacceptable inflammatory statements, and an affirmation that Jordan's security and the safety of its citizens are a red line that cannot be crossed.
Al-Majali emphasized that Jordan will continue to take all necessary steps to protect its citizens and safeguard its security and sovereignty.
The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned these attacks, describing them as a blatant violation of Jordan's sovereignty and a flagrant breach of international law and the United Nations Charter. The ministry also reiterated the Kingdom's solidarity with the Gulf Cooperation Council countries in facing Iranian attacks against them, supporting all measures taken to protect their sovereignty, security, and the safety of their citizens and residents.
