Yemeni Prime Minister: Houthi Attacks Serve Iran's Agenda and Threaten International Navigation

Yemeni Prime Minister Dr. Shaea Al-Zandani affirmed that the continued targeting of commercial ships and the threat to the security of the Red Sea and international maritime routes by the Houthi terrorist militia once again reveals their execution of Iran's agenda aimed at destabilizing the region and undermining international maritime security.
Al-Zandani explained that the repercussions of these practices are not limited to Yemenis but extend to the region and the world by threatening the freedom of navigation, supply chains, and international trade, and undermining UN, regional, and international efforts aimed at achieving peace and stability.
He emphasized that protecting the freedom of navigation and the security of maritime routes is a collective responsibility, calling on the international community to take a firmer and more deterrent stance against the Houthi terrorist behavior, to dry up its sources of support, and to prevent it from continuing to threaten regional and international interests.
Al-Zandani confirmed the Yemeni government's continued work in close coordination with the Saudi-led Coalition to Support Legitimacy and its international partners to confront these threats, protect navigation security, and support efforts to establish security and stability, restore state institutions, and safeguard Yemen's sovereignty.
