Meteorology Warns of Heatwave Reaching 50°C and Thunderstorms in Two Regions
The National Center for Meteorology warns of a heatwave in the Eastern Region with temperatures up to 50°C and thunderstorms in Al-Baha until 8 PM.
The National Center for Meteorology has issued a warning of a heatwave with temperatures reaching between 49 and 50 degrees Celsius, accompanied by active winds with speeds ranging from 40 to 49 kilometers per hour, affecting the Eastern Region.
The affected areas include the cities of Dammam and Dhahran, and the governorates of Hafar Al-Batin, Khafji, Nairyah, Qaryat Al-Ulya, Jubail, Ras Tanura, Qatif, Khobar, Buqayq, Al-Ahsa, and the surrounding villages and centers.
The center explained that these conditions have stirred up dust and reduced horizontal visibility to between 3 and 5 kilometers on highways and open areas, noting that the situation will persist until 7 PM.
In a separate context, the same center warned of rainfall in the Al-Baha region, accompanied by active winds, reduced horizontal visibility, and thunderstorms, affecting the city of Al-Baha and the governorates of Baljurashi, Al-Aqiq, Al-Qura, Bani Hassan, Al-Mandaq, and the surrounding areas.
The center indicated that this rainy condition will continue until 8 PM.
