The General Authority of Civil Aviation announced that King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Jazan and Najran International Airport were subjected to two attacks targeting their facilities on the evening of Monday, October 5, 2026.
The authority stated in a statement on Tuesday that emergency teams and relevant authorities immediately responded to the attacks according to approved procedures and plans.
It explained that the attacks resulted in three minor injuries and material damage, with the injured being transported to the hospital for necessary medical care.
The authority confirmed that it is working in continuous coordination with the relevant security agencies to assess the damage and take all necessary measures to ensure the safety of travelers and workers, and to maintain the security and safety of the civil aviation system in the Kingdom.
The official spokesperson for the Coalition Forces, Major General Turki Al-Maliki, had confirmed on Sunday that the Houthi militia's terrorist attacks on the Kingdom, and their deliberate and systematic targeting of civilians and civilian objects in several cities including Jazan and Najran, necessitate the continuation of necessary measures to deter their hostile actions, affirming the Kingdom's inherent right to defend its sovereignty and protect its security.
