Saudi Arabia and Kenya Sign 3 Memorandums of Understanding and a Labor Agreement in First Political Consultations Meeting
Saudi Arabia and Kenya held their first political consultations meeting, signing 3 MOUs and a labor agreement to enhance bilateral relations.
Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah received the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the Republic of Kenya, Dr. Musalia Mudavadi, at the Ministry's headquarters in Riyadh.
Following the reception, the two sides held the first meeting of the Saudi-Kenyan Political Consultations Committee, aimed at developing relations between the two friendly countries and enhancing coordination and consultation to serve their mutual interests and contribute to the support and stability of the region.
At the conclusion of the meeting, three memorandums of understanding and a labor agreement were signed as follows:
First: A Memorandum of Understanding in the field of promoting direct investment, signed by Saudi Investment Minister Fahd Abduljalil Al-Saif and Kenyan Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Dr. Musalia Mudavadi.
Second: A Memorandum of Understanding in the field of cooperation and mutual assistance in customs matters, signed by the Saudi Governor of the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, Engineer Suhail bin Mohammed Abanmi, and Kenyan Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Dr. Musalia Mudavadi.
Third: A Memorandum of Understanding between the Saudi Export-Import Bank and the Kenya Development Corporation, signed by the Saudi CEO of the bank, Engineer Saad bin Abdulaziz Al-Khalb, and the Kenyan Director General of the corporation, Dr. Nora Ratemo.
Additionally, a Labor Recruitment and Employment Agreement was signed by Saudi Deputy Minister of Human Resources and Social Development for the Labor Sector, Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Abuthnain, and Kenyan Minister of Labor and Social Protection, Dr. Alfred Njang'a Mutua.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Foreign Minister Engineer Waleed Al-Khuraiji, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs Ambassador Dr. Saud Al-Sati, Saudi Ambassador to Kenya Saad Al-Nufai, and Director General of the African Countries Department Saqr Al-Qurashi.
