Unayzah International Date Festival Showcases Over 20 Varieties with Production Exceeding 90,000 Tons
The Unayzah International Date Festival, under the slogan 'Unayzah's Choice', highlights the province's status as a leading date producer with over 90,000 tons annually.
The Unayzah International Date Festival firmly establishes the province's position in date production and quality, with 2,850 farms housing over 1,050,000 palm trees, and an approximate annual production exceeding 90,000 tons.
This distinction is the result of collaborative efforts among relevant entities, led by the Emirate of Al-Qassim Region, the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, the National Center for Palms and Dates, the Unayzah Chamber, and other related agricultural bodies.
Held under the slogan 'Unayzah's Choice', the festival features more than 20 varieties of dates, including Barhi, Khalas, Wanana, Ruthana, Shaqra, and Um Khashab. However, the Sukkari variety leads the market due to its high quality, exquisite taste, and ease of storage and freezing.
The Unayzah International Date Festival continues to play a pivotal role as one of the leading marketing and economic platforms in Al-Qassim, bringing together producers, traders, and consumers. It contributes to enhancing the economic value of dates in the province and reinforces Al-Qassim's status as one of the top producing regions, supporting the agricultural economy and contributing to the objectives of Vision 2030.
