63,000 Saudi Families Move into Their First Home in the First Half of 2026

The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing announced that 63,076 Saudi families moved into their first home during the first half of 2026, as part of ongoing efforts to enable families to own suitable housing and expand their access to diverse housing and financing solutions.

The ministry clarified that the number of families who moved into their first home in June alone reached 12,004 Saudi families, bringing the total from the beginning of the year to the end of June to over 63,000 families.

It was noted that the total number of families benefiting from housing support services during the first half of this year reached 48,631 Saudi families, following the benefit of 10,160 families from these services in June.

The ministry pointed out that the total number of supported housing contracts for beneficiaries since the launch of the "Sakani" program in 2017 until the end of June 2026 rose to 1,046,890 contracts, reflecting the ongoing impact of the program in enhancing ownership opportunities and facilitating the journey of Saudi families towards obtaining housing.

The ministry confirmed that these results are an extension of the efforts made by the housing system to provide diverse housing and financing solutions, improve the efficiency of services provided to beneficiaries, and accelerate ownership procedures in collaboration with financial institutions and real estate developers.

The "Sakani" program continues to offer multiple housing options, including ready-made housing units, units under construction within off-plan sales projects, self-construction, and residential lands; allowing beneficiaries to choose the solution that best suits their needs and capabilities.

The ministry reported that housing projects implemented in partnership with real estate developers contribute to increasing the housing supply and developing integrated communities that include facilities, services, and open spaces, enhancing the quality of life and providing vibrant and sustainable living environments.

It was noted that the efforts of the housing system contributed to raising the homeownership rate of Saudi families to 66.24% by the end of 2025, in continuous progress towards achieving the target of the Housing Program—one of the Saudi Vision 2030 programs—of reaching a 70% ownership rate.

The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing reiterated its commitment to continue working on enhancing the housing supply and expanding the range of solutions available to Saudi families, in partnership with the private sector and financial institutions, supporting the sustainability of the housing sector and meeting the needs of beneficiaries across various regions of the Kingdom.
