ZATCA Seizes 1,198 Smuggling Cases at Land, Sea, and Air Customs Ports

ZATCA reported 1,198 contraband cases at customs ports, including drugs, tobacco, weapons, and cash, emphasizing continued strict surveillance.

The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) has reported the seizure of 1,198 cases of contraband at land, sea, and air customs ports as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance customs security and protect society from various types of prohibited items.

The authority revealed that the seized items included 114 types of narcotics, most notably hashish, cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, and Captagon pills, in addition to 405 other prohibited items.

Regarding tobacco, customs ports thwarted the smuggling of 2,553 types of tobacco and its derivatives, alongside the seizure of 30 cases of cash and 5 types of weapons and their accessories.

ZATCA affirmed its commitment to tightening customs control over the Kingdom's imports and exports, in continuous cooperation and coordination with all relevant partner entities, to ensure community safety and protection.

The authority urged citizens and residents to contribute to combating smuggling by contacting them via the dedicated security report number 1910, email [email protected], or the international number 009661910, noting that all reports are handled with complete confidentiality, with a financial reward granted to the informant if the information is verified.
